The Minnesota Department of Health estimates one in three Minnesota houses have radon levels that pose major health risks. That’s not the case for new homes built by Twin Cities Habitat, which was named the state’s No. 1 Gold-Standard Builder of radon-resistant new construction. The affiliate uses a fan-and-vent system to draw radon out of houses. “Building healthy homes isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity,” says Susan Haigh, president and CEO of Twin Cities Habitat.
